Cool so cultural changes to armour and weapons, as if often the case.

I was definitely thinking along the lines of the green books though.

Have not purposefully limited magic. PCs are exceptions anyway, but yeah, the fey/alfar are known to posses more magic. The Anglo-Saxons not so much - mainly divine casters. So still cultural, but yeah, kind of low magic. (But not as low as say the green historical books would suggest).

I am 'mostly' limiting weapons to Dark Ages, but there are exceptions. For eg, plate armor is a secret of the coal dwarves of the south. (We are around 200 years after time of 'supposed King Arthur' too.

Re races: I wrote that stuff some time ago. I will update AND port in the stat stuff too ;)

The site looks good Connors.

I really liked the racial stuff, especially the tying it all into real world historical "clans". Would be a great way to help teach kids about history in some ways I guess.

Are you going to be limiting weapon materials and things like that? I already assuming that it would be a very low magic setting, not sure why I think that but it just seems appropriate when you read the stories of King Arthur etc there doesnt seem to be that much magic, but what there is is usually pretty powerful.

See you at 6.

Cheers, C

You have noticed the drow looking at you darkly in the Feywild. You know he wants you dead. He does not trust you, and maybe he is thinking the Feywild is the place to enact his evil plans. After all, no one from Rheged knows you are here, and who knows when or how you will return to the Summer Isle on the mortal world.

Feywild & Tazrak by ConnorsConnors, 11 Feb 2010 07:01

Since you have been in the Feywild, that old Tadhg has been very wary of you. You have noticed him watching you intently. You have a feeling he intends to leave you in the Feywild when the group finds a way out - presumably through another of Stormclaw's rituals.

Feywild and Tadhg by ConnorsConnors, 11 Feb 2010 06:53

The first night spent in the Feywild was an uneasy one for Riven. Not because of the raiding thornblights, but something he couldn't quite put a finger on. Riven had a strange 'feeling' about the place, like he had been here before, or belonged here, or even that it was the source of his power…like something was 'pulling' him to this place, and he feels that power source lies north of his current location. Whilst there is a kind of curiosity to see what is north, there is also a feeling of fear and dread, like he is not ready for such a journey. Perhaps the Prince of Frost is there and Riven is not yet ready to face him…

When Skalmad boasted he now was invincible b/c he had 'the power of the Cauldron' it reminded you of the famous Stone Cauldron you have read about in your many studies.

The Stone Cauldron was created long ago by the fomorians. It is protected by arcane defenses and is said to have the power over life and death.

From memory the Cauldron's magic is not contained wholly within itself. Rather, it is a vessel built to contain the waters of a mysterious magical spring. Its power fuels a ritual capable of returning the dead to life - even those beyond the reach of other means. Unfortunately for some they return as shades - shadow beings of their former selves.

This may explain some of what has been going on with this Skalmad.

Given Skalmad's supposed link to fomorians, you feel that this magical eye of his may be a relic or theirs. You know the following from reading about Moran in an inscription in a desecrated elven shrine that was taken by fomorians.

The ancient fomorian king Moran was known for his pursuit of fell magic. He transformed his evil eye into a crystal vessel filled with fire. He then crafted several lesser eyes of similar design, naming them Moran's Eyes and giving them to powerful monsters in exchange for fealty. The 'Eye' worn by Skalmad may well be one of these.

Storm Dream
Following the night of the consecration of the evil Shrine to Torog, Stormclaw was rewarded for his efforts to destroy the shrine and then consecrate the ground.

As Stormclaw slept in the cavern of tree roots he dreamed of being on top of a bare hill with a violent storm overhead. As lightning struck nearby, thunder cracked and the sky was blotted out in black clouds, Stormclaw raised his arms to embrace the storm. His robes whipped about him and his cloak flew at all angles. The wind got so strong he feared being blown from the height, but still he stayed. Lightning drew nearer and the sound was deafening. Still with arms raised lightning struck Stormclaw's flying red cloak. The energy flew into Stormclaw himself, but he was not hurt. He knew it was a good omen. Immediately following the lightning, thunder knocked him prone and he awoke back in the cavern, noticing faint lines of lightning ripple over his cloak that was being used for a blanket. The lightning stopped glowing but left marks in the shapes of lightning bolts all around its hem. Stormclaw knew his cloak was now a relic of Taranis.

(It is in fact a level 15 +3 Stormwalker's Cloak - PHB p251) :)
